FAMILY RUN BUSINESS

Today, The OHH Pub Company is a family-run business based in the South West which has grown from one small, local pub, to a collection of five-star country inns & a new all-day contemporary chophouse located in central Bristol, The Cow & Sow.

The story of The OHH Pub Company began In the early 80’s when Bristol born David & Sally Warburton decided to leave their city jobs & try their hands at the pub trade. They ran the Pride of the Forest on Unity Street in Bristol which has now become the bricked-up facade to Gardiner Haskins’ car park! The once very popular pub was a huge success back in its hay day, with post-work drinkers & a successful Darts Team, led by David himself.

After a few years, David & Sally were keen to escape the city & in 1984, Wadworth and Co. offered the couple their first country pub, The Old House At Home. This charming pub is in the lovely village of Burton & this is when The “OHH” was born. David and Sally took the pub from strength to strength with David running the bar & Sally looking after the kitchen, The Old House
At Home became one of the only pubs in the South West offering freshly prepared cuisine in a spit and sawdust pub & what they created all those years ago is still the core foundation for the business you still see there today.

Now led by their son, Mark Warburton, with the support of his brother Matthew, the company is expanding & striving to become a collection of the finest country inns throughout the South West region. Four other locations have now joined The OHH Pub Company including The Cow & Sow, Mark’s latest venture, which is an all-day contemporary chophouse on Queen Square in central Bristol which opened in 2022.
